Juliana Whitney is a cannabis business strategist and entrepreneur. She holds a MBA with a specialty in New Venture Development, and she has been using her passion for new venture development in the cannabis industry since 2015.
Her introduction to the cannabis industry was as a member of the starting team for the first medical marijuana dispensary to open in the City of Las Vegas, where she oversaw customer relations, inventory intake, sales, order processing, and training. In this role, she learned how to deal with the turbulent regulatory environment regarding operations, how to best serve cannabis consumers, and how to improve efficiencies in a cannabis operation.
Working in this nascent and complex industry exposed Juliana to many challenges and obstacles plaguing new cannabis businesses, which inspired her to use her experience and vision in a more impactful capacity. In 2016, Juliana began cannabis business consulting and has since led teams of industry experts to complete successful competitive licensing applications and build industry leading cannabis businesses including launching Deep Roots Harvest which is now a seven location vertical operation and developing the training program which has now been used to train hundreds of employees for Planet 13 Holdings.
She has recently been interviewed on multiple industry podcasts and news outlets as an industry expert and has been asked to speak on topics ranging from cannabis business success tips to marketing and branding at the G4 Live Convention in Las Vegas, the Cleveland School of Cannabis, and the Global Hemp Association.
